OPEN SITUATION – CARTE BLANCHE. 5.5 – 30.7.2014 Helsinki Art Museum

Maaria Wirkkala was invited to take over the Helsinki Art Museum’s new gallery space in advance of the official re-opening in autumn 2015. She was given carte blanche.
She responded to the building’s history, and to the art museum’s changing circumstances and space.
The exhibition dealt with sport and uncertainties in the world, and the presence of potential violence.
