NOT SO INNOCENT
The powder magazines, gun emplacements, vaulted cellars and spiral staircase of the Alexander Battery form an inseparable part of the installation. The history-steeped site engages in a dialogue with the imported materials: broken windows, riot shields, light and gold from Sámiland.
The work mirrors both the human mind and the state of the world today, both of which are governed by the threat of violence uncertainty and unpredictable forces. When hidden structures are exposed, nobody turns out to be completely innocent.
