FRAGILE

Initiated by the Association of Finnish Sculptors, Duo Exhibition is an exhibition concept that has already become a tradition, bringing together two sculptors in different phases of their careers. This time Minna Miettilä with Maaria Wirkkala. At its core are collegiality and working side by side.

Maaria Wirkkala chose to display installation entitled Fragile for the DUO Exhibition.

It is in the nature of her work, that certain elements travel from one work to another, changing their character according to time, space, and the situation. In this exhibition transportation boxes were part of the work itself and they were made of burned wood and they were open – working as the frame to the work itself. The list of works was a shipping consignment.
